The Role

As a Senior Data Analyst, you will take ownership of key analytical initiatives and be responsible for designing, developing, and coordinating across teams to deliver impactful data-driven insights. In this role, you will collaborate cross-functionally to build scalable analytics solutions that drive strategic decision-making.

Since we are a fast growing and agile startup, you will contribute across multiple areas of the analytics function, from designing robust data models and optimizing data pipelines to shaping reporting frameworks and influencing data-driven strategies. We are looking for candidates who are eager to apply their expertise on the full spectrum of analytics and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

An ideal candidate should have a passion for extracting insights from complex data, expertise in analytical tools and programming languages, and excitement for STEAMe’s mission. Key areas of focus for this role include developing and maintaining dashboards and reports, mentoring other analysts in data best practices, and ensuring data integrity and consistency across our systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate complex business questions and customer requirements into action-oriented Products, including proper cohorting, calculations, filtering criteria and/or aggregations
  • Partner with key customer accounts to translate analysis into clear, actionable recommendations, actively participating in both internal and client-facing meetings to present findings and drive decisions
  • Maintain relationships with stakeholders at STEAMe and externally, including STEAMe senior leadership, customers, and vendors, to ensure best-in-class service
  • Design, build, and maintain our core Analytics offering and supporting data pipelines
  • Promote and ensure quality control throughout the Analytics Development Lifecycle
  • Supercharge data-driven company decision making
  • Independently own and drive process improvements within the Analytics team, proactively identifying inefficiencies in data workflows, reporting, and tooling, and implementing scalable solutions to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and impact in a fast-paced startup environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in data analytics, AI/ML applications, or enterprise analytics
  • Expertise in SQL and python or R
  • Expertise with data visualization/BI tools like Tableau, Looker, or Power BI
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and distributed computing frameworks
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to design, evaluate and interpret complex data sets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to present complex findings to audiences with varying technical understanding
  • Comfortable working independently and learning new technologies quickly

  • This position is based in Chicago, IL
  • STEAMe is a Hybrid work environment, with 3 days work from home and 2 days in-office work
